BadalNepal, 8th March: It is now known to everyone that we should not skip breakfast. If you look at it from a metabolic perspective, breakfast should give you a head start. It should give you energy, a sense of wellbeing, and it should satisfy your hunger. While some people aren’t generally hungry in the morning, there is a strong case for eating a meal in the morning that will control your blood sugar. Here, we list you few of the foods that you need to avoid in the morning.
Fruit Juice: Most of us prefer to have the canned fruit juice in the morning as fresh juices are not always available. The reason you shouldn’t drink fruit juice is mostly because of the sugar content. Even if it’s freshly squeezed or pressed fruit juice, the natural sugar content can be enormous.
Bacon, ham and sausage: Non- vegetarians prefer to have it in the morning. Processed meat has nitrates that are associated with colorectal cancer. In fact, the Institute for Cancer Research published a list of the top ten things you can do to reduce your risk of cancer. Avoiding nitrates is a number one of them.
Low or no fiber cereals: Cereal that is high in carbohydrates and sugar and low in fiber will cause your blood sugar to spike, then quickly drop—which can lead to mid-morning cravings and moodiness.
Doughnut and muffins: They top the list of the most caloric breakfast foods. They are extremely dense and what they are packed with is generally not what you need- white flour, oil or butter and a lot of sugar. With sugar, refined carbs, and deep-fried fat, doughnuts are another breakfast food to avoid.
Light yogurts: They may have only hundred calories and come in flavors such as red velvet cheesecake, but they are usually filled with artificial sweeteners and chemicals. Go for low fat yogurt instead.
